Matt Abeles


Matt Abeles is co-founder and managing director of BuiltWorlds Media, an online media and events company that burst onto the scene in 2014, disrupting the built environment and all those who work and innovate within. As a thought leader on real estate, finance, and the fast-moving technologies transforming design, construction, and development, Abeles oversees BuiltWorlds' expanding outreach to established and emerging industry players committed to pushing our industry forward. A frequent public speaker, moderator and event organizer, he has played a leading role in events across the U.S. for the Construction Owners Association of America, the Mechanical Contractors Association of America, the AEC Hackathon, World of Concrete, the Chicago Architecture Foundation, Northwestern University, the University of Washington, Texas A&M and more. Those dozens of events, mostly at BW headquarters in Chicago, but also on the road in Seattle, New York, California, Texas, Ohio, and elsewhere, have afforded Abeles continuing opportunities to spread the BW gospel -- advocating for a more collaborative, constructive and creative way of ensuring a more sustainable, efficient, and smarter future. 


Rob McManamy


Rob is responsible for leading our written content, focused on news and analysis. His award-winning experience includes more than 25 years as a reporter, editor and manager with McGraw-Hill's ENR and Design-Build magazines, as well as leadership roles at rival trade journals Building Design + Construction and Public Works.

As a news correspondent, Rob covered the Great Chicago Flood in 1992, the Mississippi River's 'Flood of the Century' in 1993, the Los Angeles Earthquake in 1994, the Oklahoma City Bombing in 1995, and the post-9/11 rebuilding of the Pentagon in 2002. Along the way, he earned a law degree specializing in alternative dispute resolution. Rob is passionate about promoting best practices and collaborative innovation that advances both our industry and even our species.

Phoebe Noce

Manager, Marketing + Brand Strategy

Phoebe leads marketing at BuiltWorlds, with years of experience in both marketing and traditional journalism. Before joining BuiltWorlds, she graduated with her MBA at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management where she majored in Marketing and Analytics. Prior to Kellogg, she was a food editor at Cooking Light magazine. She also holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri.

Her experience also includes marketing strategy, brand positioning, and change management for Fortune 500 companies in the retail and healthcare industries. 


Corinne Mock

Graphic Design Specialist

Specializing in visual design, branding, illustration, promotional
materials, typography, and much more. Corinne has been immersed in the creative visual arts since childhood. She attended trade school specializing in Graphic Arts and Communication Design
from 2006 to 2008. In 2012 she graduated from Columbia
College Chicago with a BFA in Graphic Design. 

Her experiences include internships at Columbia College Chicago and the popular Chicago music venue- Metro + SmartBar, Art Director for a non-for-profit in Humboldt Park, as well as various freelance work from over the years.
