ALL HANDS ON TECH

Learn about the industry’s emerging technologies before they become mainstream. In each episode, we talk to a handful of companies surrounding a topical theme (for example: Mobile Apps in Construction or Smart Jobsites) and get the scoop on their innovative technologies, often in their earliest stages of development.

Many of the past featured companies, such as IrisVR, Bridgit, and Procore, went on to raise significant funding rounds and grew to gain a larger footprint in the industry.

Follow us as we hit the road, looking for the hotbeds of built innovation across the United States. On Road Trip we travel from city to city, looking at the industry players, tech companies, organizations, and universities driving the future of the industry. MAKE IT

Leveraging the popularity of industry hackathons and our previous “reality” series following a group of Northwestern University engineering students in their efforts to build a functioning 3D concrete printer, the Make It show follows teams of students as they compete to create the best solution for a technological industry challenge.

Watch as problems are presented, teams are chosen, students develop solutions, and presentations are made. After deliberations, the team with the most compelling project will win the ultimate prize.

PROJECT INNOVATION

Come explore innovation in project design and delivery, from early concept stages to the finished product. In each episode, we meet with the key stakeholders —owners, architects, contractors, and more — of a featured project and learn about their challenges the way the teams work together to solve them.

Our first season focuses on projects featuring innovative designs by notable architects in the Chicago area. Future seasons will cover additional projects in other cities.

SAFE INSIGHT

Safety first! From smart hard hats to geolocation, this show features key industry players speaking about the technology and new thinking improving our job site safety.

We’ll meet the project teams that achieved outstanding safety performance and hear their stories. See demos of the latest in safety apps, tools, equipment, and technology. Plus: Learn from the industry’s leading safety experts and craftspeople to hear their perspectives on the state of safety and what improvements can be made in the future.

SMARTWORLDS

Priorities for our cities are changing — what does that mean for the planning and design of these cities and their components?

Join us as we explore how to make cities more energy efficient, navigable, resilient to the effects of natural disaster and climate change, and livable in the face of increasing densification and urbanization around the globe.

Examine not just how the industry can be more efficient in delivery but also how it can be more responsive to our society’s changing expectations for our infrastructure.

TECHNOLOGY IN REAL ESTATE

Explore the growing number of commercial and residential real estate focused solutions in Tech in Real Estate. Like All Hands on Tech this show focuses on early stage companies who show promise and impact in the industry.

The support of players such as CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, and Jones Lang LaSalle have helped to shape this show.

VENTURE

As investors eye the built world for its size, potential growth, and reputation for being one of the last industries poised for technological disruption, billions of dollars are beginning to fl ow into the industry.

On Venture, we look at these investments from two angles: 1. Where the money is flowing, who is making these bets, and why, and 2. Who is receiving the investments and what they plan to do with all that money.

Who will succeed? Who will fade away?

YARD + SHOP

Yards and shops have evolved over the years. As the industry has developed more sophisticated and specialized tools and equipment for the eld, yards have also grown more sophisticated in their tracking and handling of systems. Similarly, fabrication shops have also become much more sophisticated through modularization and pre- assembly of building and infrastructure components.

We’re shining a light on these critical, yet often hidden operations within the industry. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the yards and shops moving our industry forward.
